Body Of Man, 30, Pulled From Schuylkill River, Police Say (Video) The body of a 30-year-old man was pulled from the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia Tuesday, June 18, police said. Video shared to the Citizen App shows a Philadelphia Marine Unit at the scene on the 2400 block of Walnut Street. A spokesperson for the city police department said the man, identified only as John Doe, was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m.

Cold CASE: Philly Woman Found Strangled Off I-81 In Schuylkill County Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the murder of Caryn Fortino.  Fortino, 38, was found dead in a wooded area off of Interstate 81 in Delano Township on May 23, 2003. She had been strangled, according to troopers.  Authorities said Fortino was from the Philadelphia area and was last in contact with loved ones that February. Pennsylvania State Troopers Injured In Fatal Philly Crash: Officials One person has died after a crash involving a state police car early Friday morning, June 14.  Troopers were driving south on Christopher Columbus Boulevard responding to a separate incident around 1:30 a.m., authorities said. Officer Hospitalized With Medical Episode While Arresting Wanted Person, Police Say An Allentown police officer was hospitalized after suffering a medical episode while trying to arrest a wanted person, officials said. Police said only that the officer suffered some sort of medical episode while attempting to apprehend the suspect around 12:45 p.m. Monday, June 10 on the 600 block of N. 9th Street. Emergency aid was rendered on scene and the officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The officer is expected to survive. No further details were released.

Woman Killed By Neighbor In Northeast Philly 'Dispute,' Police Say A Tacony man is in custody after an hour-long standoff on Tuesday, June 4, Philadelphia police told Daily Voice.  Authorities said they were called to the 7100 block of Montague Street just before noon for a "neighbor dispute." They arrived to find a 65-year-old woman dead with gunshot wounds, police said.  A suspect "refused to exit the property" and police declared a barricade situation, PPD said. Chief Russell passed away from an "off duty medical death," according to the Greencastle PD.
