The DUI driver in a fatal 2021 crash will spend up to two decades in prison, said the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office on Friday, July 5. John Frederick Fifield, 21, was sentenced to four to 20 years after pleading guilty to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and related offenses, according to prosecutors. A VFW employee "stole over $2,000 in cash and a bottle of unopened whiskey" from her place of work, the Mount Joy Borough of Police announced on Thursday, June 27. A Philadelphia man is in police custody for the May crash that killed Nya Janae Stokes, according to prosecutors. The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said 27-year-old Jabrial Terry had fentanyl, oxycodone, Benzodiazepines and cannabinoids in his system during the May 4 wreck. Authorities said Stokes, who was nine months pregnant, was the passenger in a Toyota that Terry's Buick struck head-on on Skippack Pike in Whitemarsh. A Pennsylvania driver was more than twice the legal limit nearly two hours after she crashed her car and left it at the scene, police said. Heidi R. Hamrick, of New Holland, struck a utility pole at Ranck Road and Don Drive in East Earl Township around 12:10 a.m. June 9, East Earl police said. A Montgomery County driver is charged with DUI after an incident in March, according to troopers. Police said they spotted the suspect's car on Blaker Drive in East Greenville Borough after midnight on March 16. The car was stopped in the roadway for 45 minutes when troopers approached, authorities said in a release.
