Foster Homes Needed For 30 Animals Seized From Berks County Home
Rescue officials are desperate for help after 30 animals were seized from a home in Berks County. The Department of Animal Protection from the Animal Rescue League of Berks County was performing a wellness check when they removed 22 dogs, three cats, five snakes, and two geckos were removed from a home in Womelsdorf on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Three Central Pennsylvania residents are wanted on felony animal cruelty charges after abandoning more than 20 animals and storing the bodies of more than 50 others in freezers, the Lancaster County District Attorney announced on Tuesday, Oct. 1. 36 Animals Including Bull, Chickens Rescued From School Bus Trailer In PA, SPCA Says
Thirty birds, four dogs, one bull, and one pony were removed from a school bus and trailer in Adams County over the weekend, according to the SPCA. Eastern Adams Regional police called SPCA members to Hanover Street and Red Hill Road on Saturday night, the organization said in a release. Police had discovered the animals in the bus and accompanying trailer after arresting the driver on out-of-state warrants, officials said. Twenty-three animals living in “severe neglect” were removed from a Coaldale home on Monday, May 20, state police said in a release. Charges are pending against the 69-year-old homeowner, according to troopers. Investigators said the animals — including 17 dogs, two cats, two birds, and one turtle — were found “in a state of severe neglect, showing signs of malnutrition, untreated medical conditions, and poor living conditions.” Facebook/Pennsylvania SPCA PSP said they are working with Coaldale Borough Police and the Pennsylvania SPCA to obtain veterinary care for the rescued animals. …
