Boy Injured By Float In PA Halloween Parade: Community Comes To The Rescue
A Berks County boy was tragically injured after he was run over by a float at a local Halloween parade, according to a community member trying to raise money for the family.
Nico Rizzo, 8, of Boyertown, was on a float with his football team in the Boyertown Halloween Parade on Saturday, Oct. 19, a GoFundMe campaign started by Abby Mackey, his friend's mother, states.
"As Nico went to step back onto the trailer, his foot slipped and got caught under the wheel," Mackey said on the campaign page. "He quickly became trapped under the wheels of his float's trailer."

A community is rallying for the family of a Pennsylvania State Police officer who was allegedly stabbed to death on a hiking by a Maryland.
Off-duty PA State Police Liquor Enforcement Officer, Benjamin J. Brallier, age 44, of Kennedy Township, formerly of Moon Township, was found stabbed while running near near the 1900 block of Hassam Road on Montour Trail on Monday, Oct. 21 at 2:52 p.m., as Daily Voice previously reported. A teenage girl shot dead in a drive-by shooting on New Year's Eve has led to a life in prison sentence for her half-sister, the York County District Attorney's Office announced on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024.
Alajah Elizabeth Holmes, 19, at the time of the shooting, now 21, of York City, was driving a UHaul in the 300 block of West Jackson Street, York when she opened fire at her half-sister 18-year-old Amiya Paige, who was walking home on New Year's Eve in 2022 at 12:36 a.m., authorities explained in numerous releases.
