Thomas Rooney, 25, was arrested in Hempfield Township after a resident called police about a suspicious encounter on Friday morning, Jan. 31. The victim told troopers that Rooney knocked on her door, identified himself as a Pittsburgh police officer, and asked to come inside. York County Man, 55, Dies In Vehicle Fire: Police Authorities are investigating a deadly vehicle fire in Manchester Township.  Northern York Regional police were called to the 2400 block of Pin Oak Drive around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, May 23. They arrived to find a white 1994 GMC Safari minivan fully engulfed in flames.  York Area United Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire and 55-year-old Thomas Rooney was found dead in the van, police said.
