Gas Leak Closes Part Of William Penn Highway: Palmer Twp. PD (

A major gas leak prompted evacuations in Palmer Township, authorities said. The incident occurred shortly before noon on Thursday, Aug. 8. Both lanes of travel on William Penn Highway were closed as a result of the leak between Stones Crossing Road and Sheridan Drive, police said. The evacuation covered an area of more than 100 yards, they said. Emergency services and utility company crews were at the scene.

Jackknifed Trailer Closed I-95 For Several Hours In Philadelphia
Interstate 95 has reopened in Philadelphia following a tractor trailer crash early Thursday, Aug. 8. The trailer jackknifed in the 6:30 a.m. crash in between exits for Vine Street Expressway and Columbus Boulevard. 6abc says HazMat teams were called to the scene for a fuel spill. Vehicle Slams Into Fence On Rt 30 Ramp: PennDOT
A vehicle crash into a fence at a Route 30 ramp is causing some delays on Monday, Aug. 5, according to PennDOT's 511PA. The crash happened at the Route 30 Westbound on-ramp at Kreutz Creek Road in Hellam Township around 11:15 a.m., according to the York County Department of Emergency Services dispatch log. Two tractor-trailers collided on Interstate 81 sending one person to the hospital, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice. The crash happened on I-81 South at mile marker 93 in Swatara Township shortly after 4 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, as detailed by Schreffler. There was "heavy entrapment" and one of the tractor-trailers rolled over, Schreffler explained. One driver was taken to Hershey Medical Center. The extent of their injuries is unknown. 'Juvenile' Hit By Car In Broomall: Police
A juvenile victim was hospitalized after being hit by a car on Friday night, July 26, according to Marple police. The victim was struck by a southbound vehicle while crossing Sproul Road near Lawrence Road in Broomall around 7 p.m., authorities said in a release. They were taken to Lankenau Hospital while the driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators, police wrote. Marple police and the Delaware County Crash Investigation Team continue to investigate.

Coroner Names Woman Killed In Carbon County Crash
A Hazleton woman was killed in a Nesquehoning crash on Tuesday morning, July 23, officials say. Angela De La Cruz Laureano, 46, was involved in a wreck on Route 93 and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Carbon County Coroner's Office. Her cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries resulting from a motor vehicle collision and the manner of death was ruled accidental, authorities said. In addition to the Coroner's Office, Nesquehoning police and the District Attorney's Office are investigating, they added.

A tractor-trailer hauling a tank of chocolate syrup rolled over in Lebanon County on Wednesday morning, July 24, authorities explained. The crash happened in the 1800 block of South Forge Road/PA Route 117 near the Campbelltown roundabout in South Londonderry Township, at 2:55 a.m., according to township officials. All lanes of Interstate 78 are closed in Williams Township after a crash near the New Jersey border, according to transportation officials. Car Hit By Falling Tree On I-476 In Delco: Police
A tree fell on a car on Interstate 476, sending one person to the hospital on Thursday morning, July 18, according to state police. The driver of a Toyota Rav4 was seriously injured, troopers said. Two other cars were struck by debris but no one inside them was injured, authorities added. Roadwork To Begin In Montgomery County, Officials Say
Drivers are advised to expect possible delays as roadwork begins in Lower Gwynedd this week. Crews will be at work at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike, Sumneytown Pike, and Norristown Road near Spring House Tavern, according to township police. Work will begin on Wednesday, July 17, and continue through Friday, July 19, officials said. Crews will work from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and then again from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The project will include roadway milling, paving, and temporary line striping, they added.

A tanker truck carrying milk overturned in Quarryville on Monday, July 15, authorities explained. The crash happened in the 1100 block of May Post Office Road near Springville Road in Eden Township around 4 p.m., dispatchers and the Quarryville Fire Department explained. The tanker was carrying 1,000 gallons of milk when it overturned, QFD officials said. May Post Office Road is closed between Springville and Stony Hill roads.
