Two men charged in the rape and false imprisonment of a teenage gir have pleaded guilty, prosecutors announced.
Jacquan Tanasse, 20, and Tristan Zawick, 23, both pleaded guilty to Rape, Conspiracy to Commit Rape, False Imprisonment, and Conspiracy to False Imprisonment, District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2026. Tanasse also pleaded guilty to Strangulation.

Man Drove 70 Miles To Gift Girl iPhone To 'Party For Free' In Bensalem: Police
A Slatington man is accused of trying to meet and exploit a 13-year-old girl for sex, Bensalem police announced on Thursday, July 3.
Warren Batz, 37, began messaging what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl on a dating app on May 3, police said. During the chat, Batz allegedly offered the child $200 to “hang out” and “party for free,” saying he wanted to make her his “sugar baby.”
He repeatedly asked the juvenile for nude photos and explicit videos throughout May and June, even urging her to sneak out at night when her mother was asleep, according to investigators.

A Lehigh County inmate accused of killing and dismembering his roommate last year has died by suicide at a hospital, the coroner announced on Sunday, Jan. 12.
Joshua Douglas Moser, 34, of Allentown, was pronounced dead at 3:41 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. Luke's Hospital in Allentown, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
Moser, who was being held at Lehigh County Jail, was charged in May 2024 with homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence in the murder of his 37-year-old roommate, David Hittinger, authorities said and Daily Voice previously reported.

Missing Walnutport Man Found Dead In Slatington Quarry: Lehigh Coroner
A man reported missing in late November was found dead in the water of an underground quarry in Slatington, authorities announced on Thursday, Jan. 2.
Jesse James Rutt, 41, was discovered in the quarry on the 300 block of East Church Street and pronounced dead at 11:34 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
Rutt had last been seen on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, in the Slatington/Walnutport area, wearing a gray jacket and jeans, police said. Known for traveling on foot, he was reported missing after he left home without his wallet or identification.

Over half a century after his body was found in Slatington, state police continue to investigate the death of Richard Stewart Wimbish.
The 49-year-old was found shot to death and wrapped in a sleeping bag in Trout Creek on Jan. 13, 1973, troopers say.
Wimbish was last seen alive leaving work on Dec. 29, 1972, authorities said. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Trucking Company located at 49th Street and Parkside Avenue in West Philadelphia.
