A Pennsylvania man brought fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine into Maryland. Now he’s going away for decades.
Jerome Mario Britton, 46, of Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for drug distribution in Frederick County, prosecutors announced.
A jury convicted Britton in March following a narcotics investigation and traffic stop in Frederick last fall.
According to the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office, on Sept. 4, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., police received a tip from Carroll Township in Pennsylvania.

Seven people were recently arrested and charged with running a heroin mill in Burlington County, authorities said.
Authorities investigated a large scale narcotics operation in Pemberton late last year, finding that William Anderson, a 60-year-old Brown Mills man, was trafficking substantial quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine, with David Furter, a 61-year-old Palmyra resident serving as a key supplier of bulk methamphetamine, New York State Police said.

Two parents in Stroud Township are accused of selling heroin and fentanyl from their home while their young children lived in dangerous, squalid conditions, authorities announced on Friday, Feb. 7.
Jessica Walters, 35, and Robert Nochella, 35, were arrested after Monroe County detectives and Children and Youth Services discovered drug paraphernalia, scales, and packaging materials scattered throughout their home on Thursday, Feb. 6, officials said. 'Street-Level' Reading Drug Dealer Arrested With $27K In Drugs: DA
A Reading "street-level" drug dealer was arrested with more than $27,000 worth of heroin and fentanyl, authorities said.
Jaime Serrano-Rosario, 55, was arrested without incident by detectives of the Berks County Drug Task Force on Thursday, Oct. 17, according to the Berks County District Attorney's Office.
Authorities found 5,348 packets of heroin/fentanyl, five grams of bulk heroin/fentanyl, a .38 caliber Derringer loaded handgun, and $2,035 in cash at Serrano-Rosario's residence, authorities said. The street value of the heroin/fentanyl seized is about $27,115.

An already incarcerated 31-year-old man was sentenced to more prison time after pleading guilty to the overdose-related death of another inmate, the Buck County District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Allen Rhoades, 31, of Doylestown, was sentenced to seven to 20 years in prison for providing the drugs that led to the death of Joshua Patterson, 22, of Philadelphia, while both men were serving time on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, the DA's Office detailed in a release.
