James Norris, 63, of Downingtown, was found lying in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle in the 2400 block of Lincoln Highway East in East Lampeter Township, the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office announced on Friday, April 18. The crash happened around 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 17. Norris was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:26 a.m., officials said. Lancaster Kayaker Found Dead In Swatara Creek: Harrisburg Officials A 44-year-old kayaker was found dead in Swatara Creek, the Dauphin County Coroner's Office confirmed Friday morning.  The Lancaster man was kayaking with friends when "he appears to have had a medical event," on Thursday, June 13, according to the coroner's release.  A life jacket was reportedly on the boat but was not on the man when he was found shortly after 9 p.m., officials explained.  "The Coroner’s Office is now working to ensure that all family members are notified before releasing his name," Dauphin County Press Secretary Diane McNaughton said.
