Crash Shuts Down Lincoln Highway In Chester County: Police
Authorities are responding to an accident on Route 30 in West Whiteland on Monday morning, June 17. Route 30 is shut down east of Springdale Drive and some area residents have lost power, police said around 10 a.m. The PECO outage map shows more than 100 customers in the area are affected. Service is expected to be restored by noon, PECO says.

Pedestrian Dies After Berks County Crash: Coroner
A pedestrian died from her injuries after being struck by a car in Hamburg, officials say. Alicia Barlip, 44, was hit near South Fourth Street and Pine Street on June 4, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. She was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Bethlehem where she died from blunt force trauma on Thursday, June 13, officials said. Her death was ruled accidental. Hamburg Borough Police Department and the Berks County District Attorney's Office are investigating.

Crash Shuts Down Route 422 In Exeter Township
Exeter police responded to a crash on Route 422 on Wednesday afternoon, June 12. Authorities said it happened near Daniel Boone Road around 2:30 p.m. "Motorists should expect the road to be closed for an extended period of time," Exeter police said. WFMZ reports a Minersville woman died as a result of the crash. Daily Voice has reached out to the Berks County Coroner's Office for details.

A man and a woman are hospitalized after an early morning wreck on Route 322, Downingtown police say. A silver Honda Fit and a white Chevrolet Equinox collided on the 600 block just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, authorities said. Both were taken to Paoli Hospital Trauma Center while Route 322/Brandywine Avenue was shut down for more than three hours. The crash remains under investigation and anyone who witnessed it is asked to call 610-269-0263 or email traffic@downingtown.org.

4-Year-Old Critical After Northeast Philadelphia Crash: Authorities
A 4-year-old boy is in critical condition after a two-car crash in Philadelphia's Holmesburg neighborhood on Monday evening, June 10, city police say. The wreck happened near Frankford and Solly avenues just before 5 p.m., PPD said. A 67-year-old man in a red Hyundai lost control of his car and struck a white Volkswagen on the driver's side at the intersection, authorities said. Coroner Names Driver Killed In Williams Township Crash
A 25-year-old man died in a single-car crash on Thursday morning, June 6, authorities say. Rashon Christian-James Cooke of Philadelphia crashed at the corner of Berger and Diehl roads in Williams Township, said the Northampton County Coroner's Office. According to state police, Cooke was headed west on Diehl when his truck left the roadway, struck an embankment, and then hit a traffic sign before overturning. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, the Coroner's Office added.

Officials have named the driver who died after a crash near Bernville on Thursday morning, May 30. Daniel R. Schneider, 28, was headed south on the 6400 block of Bernville Road/Route 183 in Penn Township around 4:15 a.m., according to state police and the Berks Coroner's Office. PennDOT crews will be repaving Pine Road in Lower Moreland Township beginning Friday, May 31, officials say. Work will be ongoing from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Friday through Monday, June 10. Five teenagers were taken into custody after a deadly crash in North Philadelphia on Tuesday night, May 28, city police say. Authorities said the teens were driving in a stolen Kia on Front Street when they struck a motorcyclist heading west on Hunting Park Avenue. The motorcyclist, 55-year-old Wilberto Casillas, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The five teens fled on foot and were later arrested, according to PPD. Charges are pending.

Holiday Weekend Ends In 29 DUI Arrests In Lehigh Valley Area: State Police
State troopers have released the results of their Memorial Day Holiday traffic enforcement initiative. PSP's Troop M — which includes Bucks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties — said they made 29 DUI arrests between Friday, May 24 and Monday, May 27. That's down from the same holiday weekend in 2023 when troopers made 31 DUI arrests, according to the data. Of the 45 total crashes Troop M responded to over the long weekend, two were said to be alcohol-related. Last year, seven of the 42 crashes reported were believed to be alcohol-related.
