A Chester County man blamed a traumatic brain injury and addiction for his months-long crime spree across Lancaster County, which ended in a violent crash, prosecutors announced on Tuesday, Dec. 24.
James Steffy, 41, of West Ridge Road in West Nottingham Township, pleaded guilty to 35 charges, including aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, burglary, theft, and access device fraud, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.

A community is mourning their loss after a 32-year-old woman died due to a traumatic brain injury following a hit-run crash on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia.
Tess Kathryn Fox, most recently of Springfield, Pennsylvania but formerly of West Deptford, New Jersey, died on Saturday, Sept. 14 as a result of the crash on Interstate 95 near Philadelphia International Airport on Saturday, Sept. 7, Pennsylvania State Police told Daily Voice on Thursday, Sept. 19, and as detailed in obituary published by McGuinness Funeral Homes.

Boy, 14, Suffers Brain Injury While Struck Riding Scooter Home From Pool In Delco, Family Says
Friday, July 26 was shaping up to be a usual day for Michael McCullough.
He had spent the day at the pool and was riding home in Marple Township.
Just before 7 p.m., when took a turn for the worst: The 14-year-old was struck by a southbound vehicle while crossing Sproul and Lawrence roads, police said.
Officers found him in the roadway and he was rushed to Lankenau Hospital.
The boy's parents were notified and the driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene, fully cooperative with officers, they said.

Fundraiser Launched For Family Of Cumberland County PIO, Firefighter
A Pennsylvania firefighter of over 50 years has died, according to his family and friends.
John Bruetsch, 65, a New Cumberland native living in Enola, passed away on June 9, his sister Karen Blazina announced on Facebook.
In her post she wrote the following:
"Today I lost my younger brother. Unexpected that the man, the husband, the father, the grandfather, the brother, the uncle, the fireman, the PIO for Cumberland County answered his last call on earth. He is loved and will be missed. You fought a great fight John Bruetsch ....peace."
