A 16-year-old Mennonite boy has died in a kayaking accident, authorities confirmed to Daily Voice on Thursday, Aug. 1. Rylan Trent Weiler of Manheim died while kayaking Hammond Lake in the Tioga-Hammond Lakes Recreation Area at approximately 8:17 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, the PA Fish and Boat Commission told Daily Voice. Lancaster Kayaker Found Dead In Swatara Creek: Harrisburg Officials
A 44-year-old kayaker was found dead in Swatara Creek, the Dauphin County Coroner's Office confirmed Friday morning. The Lancaster man was kayaking with friends when "he appears to have had a medical event," on Thursday, June 13, according to the coroner's release. A life jacket was reportedly on the boat but was not on the man when he was found shortly after 9 p.m., officials explained.
