A Scranton man is charged with setting a fire at the Lackawanna County government building last week, according to city police. Paul Howard Strope Jr., 35, is also charged with risking catastrophe and reckless endangerment, authorities said. The 123 Wyoming Avenue fire started around 6:30 on Tuesday, June 26, Scranton police said. A Christmas day burglary in Warminster has investigators asking the public for help, according to a release on Friday, June 28. The vehicle pictured (above) was seen pulling into a driveway on Dec. 25, authorities detailed in the release. A 21-month-old child in Kennett Township died after being beaten by an adult man, prosecutors say. Enrique Lopez-Gomez, 20, of West Grove, is charged with third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and related counts, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office. A suspect is at large after police said he stabbed his ex in her Bethlehem home. Authorities believed Jose Antonio Ramirez-Duran forced his way inside the victim's residence in broad daylight on June 9. Trooper Rear-Ended By Tractor Trailer On I-76 In Philadelphia
A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was hospitalized after being struck by a tractor trailer on I-76 overnight in Philadelphia, police said. The officer was conducting stationary work enforcement in the westbound lanes with his emergency lights fully activated near milepost 340.5 in Philadelphia, when he was struck around 3:50 a.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. The trooper sustained moderate injuries as a result of the impact and was taken by Philadelphia Fire and EMS to the hospital for further evaluation.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in a shooting that left a Philadelphia police officer in critical condition. Ramon Rodriguez Vazquez has been charged with attempted murder, attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, and more. A car chase in Lower Moreland ended in one man's arrest, according to township police. Officers were traveling on Philmont Avenue early on June 10 when they spotted an oncoming driver pass a car on its left side, veering into the center median and opposite lane, police said. The officers had to swerve to the curb to avoid colliding with the driver, authorities said. The body of a 30-year-old man was pulled from the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia Tuesday, June 18, police said. Video shared to the Citizen App shows a Philadelphia Marine Unit at the scene on the 2400 block of Walnut Street. A spokesperson for the city police department said the man, identified only as John Doe, was pronounced dead at 6:16 p.m.
