Murder-suicide: Authorities ID Couple Shot Dead In Allentown Authorities have identified the couple shot dead in a murder-suicide in Allentown, the Lehigh County Coroner announced on Friday, Sept. 6. Livi E. Beltran Fernandez, 44, of Allentown, was found dead of a shooting at about 1:10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, in a home on the 2000 block of East Cedar St., according to the Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio. Her cause of death was ruled a homicide. Jesus J. Cruz Ortiz, a 53-year-old man from Easton, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot at the same address, Buglio said. Lackawanna County Man Is 2nd Victim Killed By Home Explosion: Coroner A second victim has died from injuries following a home explosion in Lackawanna County, authorities said. Leon W. Gruss, 91, of Jefferson Township, was pronounced dead on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 12:38 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. The cause of death is 51% burns to the body due to the explosion and house fire, Buglio said. Bethlehem Dad Of 7 Drowns Tubing Lehigh River In Allentown: Coroner For at least the second time this month, a man has died while tubing in the Lehigh Valley, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. This time it was a father of seven children, a family friend told Daily Voice.  Antwan D. Daring, 35, of Bethlehem, drowned in the Lehigh River near Waterfront Drive in Allentown on Monday afternoon, July 15, officials said. He was recovered by city firefighters and pronounced dead at St. Luke's Hospital, according to the coroner.  Daring's death was ruled an accident, officials added.
