Woman Killed By Tractor-Trailer Strike On Rt 30 In Central PA: Officials

A woman was killed after being hit by a tractor-trailer, the Northern York County Regional Police Department announced Monday, Nov. 5.

The 64-year-old woman from Manchester Township was pronounced at WellSpan York Hospital at 12:29 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, according to the York County Coroner's release.

The fatal crash happened on Arsenal Road/Route 30, east of North George Street in  Manchester Township around 5:54 p.m., according to Northern York County Regional Police Department.

A 60-year-old man from Stevens, was driving his 2012 Peterbilt tractor-trailer eastbound when he struck the woman as she crossed Arsenal Road, outside of a crosswalk, the police detailed in a release. The impact sent her to York Hospital, authorities said.

Her cause of death was "multiple blunt force injuries" and the manner was ruled "accidental," as written in the coroner's release.
