Children found living in deplorable conditions prompted arrests of their parents on Thursday, Sept. 12, Mount Joy police announced. Morris H. Hayes, Jr., 52, and Jessica E. Hayes, 44, both of the 100 block of South Barbara Street in Mount Joy, were charged with Endangering the Welfare of Children, the police said. A convict was found with blood coming from his face in an Elizabethtown parking lot following two sexual assaults, borough police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Richard J. Copenhaver III, 29, of Mountville, was found in the 200 block of South Market Street in Elizabethtown Borough by Corporal Goshen and Officer John Stewart at 9:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, as detailed in a release. A man who allegedly stole an $82,000 watch from an area mall is sought by police in Upper Merion Township. Justin Ward, 30, has been charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and retail theft. A husband and wife have been arrested on homicide charges after an assault left a woman dead in the couple's Harrisburg apartment on Thursday, August 29, the police announced the following morning. A 36-year-old Middletown man who was shot by police while fleeing a robbery scene has been charged with several offenses, authorities said. Man With Drug Warrant Flees Police In Lycoming County
A 40-year-old man was arrested for fleeing police in Lycoming County, authorities said. Michael Charles Devan had been stopped on Aug. 20 by Williamsport police near West Fourth and Campbell streets. During a traffic stop, Devan learned that he had an active felony drug warrant, police said. Devan accelerated away and fled from police for over a mile through residential areas of the city, exceeding speeds of 60 mph, police said. Warminster Township police seek the public's assistance in locating a 17-year-old boy, authorities said on Friday, Aug. 23. The unidentified teen walked away from his group home in Warminster, police said. The date and time he disappeared was not shared. He was last seen wearing black pants, a black sweatshirt, and a black backpack. The missing teenage boy has a light scar on the right side of his forehead. Bicyclist Struck In Lititz, Police Say
A bicyclist was struck in Lititz on Tuesday, Aug. 20, the police announced at 2:56 p.m. that day. The police were called to investigate the crash "involving a bicycle and a vehicle" around 11:21 a.m., as detailed in the release. They learned a "bicyclist turned left at the intersection into the path of a vehicle traveling westbound resulting in a collision," police wrote in the release. The crash happened at the intersection of East Sixth Street and Laurel Avenue in Lititz Borough. No injuries were reported. There was also no word of any charges filed.

A 5-year-old girl who went missing in Chambersburg has been found safe, police told Daily Voice. The girl pictured "walked away from the area of 76 W Liberty St at approximately 11:51 a.m.," the police stated in the release on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 14. She was found safe a few hours later, the police told us.

Michael Thomas Cates, 28, of Millersville, used a false name when he checked into the Courtyard Marriott located at 4921 Gettysburg Road in Mechanicsburg, Lower Allen Township police explained.
