A Shippensburg High School senior has died unexpectedly, leaving his family, friends, and classmates heartbroken, loved ones said.
Jackson Charles McManus, 18, of Shippensburg, passed away at home on Wednesday, Feb. 5, according to his obituary published by Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
Born in Lancaster, Jackson was a senior at Shippensburg Area Senior High School. He worked at Kenny’s Grill and Ice Cream in Chambersburg and spent summers as a lifeguard at Holly Lake Camp Site in Millsboro, Delaware.

A 73-year-old man who died in his Manchester Township home after a furnace malfunction has been identified as Michael Lee Beshore, whose funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 20.
Michael Lee Beshore, a lifelong Manchester Township resident, was pronounced dead on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at 9:24 a.m. after his home on the 1500 block of Guildford Lane filled with smoke and carbon monoxide from a malfunctioning oil furnace, the York County Coroner said.

A woman was shot and killed by her husband before he took his own life in an apparent murder-suicide in Manor, according to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, WPXI Channel 11 News reports.
Police responded to a shooting at a home in Manor Township around 6:22 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, according to the outlet. Arriving officers discovered Terri Day, 51, dead from a gunshot wound, authorities said. Her husband, Jeffrey Day, was also found at the scene with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Manor Borough Police Chief Randy Clarson told WPXI.
