Mass Shooting: 1 Dead, 7 Wounded In Southwest Philadelphia, Police Say Eight people were struck by gunfire leaving one of them dead in Southwest Philadelphia late on Thursday, July 4, police said. The group had been gathered on the 1900 block of S. Salford Street when a man with dreadlocks fired multiple shots from the passenger side of a passing SUV around 11:30 p.m., police said. A 19-year-old man was shot in the face and taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:43 p.m., police said.
