The status of this program remains uncertain, as the US Department of Health and Human Services has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the suspension of orders.

Orders placed before 8 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday, March 9, will still be shipped, but the ordering function on Covidtests.gov has experienced intermittent suspensions since the initiative launched in winter 2021.

Despite the continued presence of COVID in the United States, recent data indicates a downward trend in cases.

The price of COVID tests varies, ranging from $10 to $35 each, with some insurance plans potentially covering the costs. Additionally, local health programs occasionally offer complimentary tests to the public.
