A young man from Monroe County has been identified as the victim of a fiery multi-vehicle crash that shut down Interstate 81 in Lebanon County for nearly 10 hours on Thursday, Nov. 14, officials confirmed the following afternoon. James Stokes, 27, of Cresco, was a front-seat passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the collision, which occurred around 2:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Exit 80 (Route 743/Grantville/Hershey) in East Hanover Township, Pennsylvania State Police said. A tractor-trailer rolled over on Interstate 81 on-ramp in Cumberland County on Wednesday morning, Oct. 9, according to officials. Only the trailer flipped at the on-ramp from Exit 52 — Route 11/New Kingston/Middlesex, from Route 11 to I-81 South, according to PennDOT's 511PA traffic cameras. A car was found sliced in half on Route 222, Adamstown firefighters announced on Monday, Oct. 7. While heading to a training in Berks County, volunteers with the Adamstown Fire Company volunteers were called to a single vehicle accident on Rt 222. There's lane restriction on Interstate 81 following a multiple vehicle crash on Friday evening, Sept. 27, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice. Emergency crews were called to the scene of the crash on on I-81 southbound 1.1 miles north of Exit 57: PA 114 - Mechanicsburg at 6:08 p.m., according to PennDOT's 511PA. The pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle outside a hotel near multiple amusement parks has been identified by the Lancaster County Coroner on Friday, Aug. 30. John Zimmerman, 72, original of Lititz but recently of Lancaster, died at the scene of the strike at 2270 Lincoln Highway East at Fairfield Inn, according to the coroner.
