TSA officers intercepted loaded firearms at Harrisburg International Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport on Monday, Dec. 16, delaying travelers at both checkpoints, officials announced. At Harrisburg International Airport, a Lancaster man was caught with a loaded 9mm handgun containing 13 bullets in his carry-on bag. Two laser strikes have been reported by air traffic controllers at a Pennsylvania airport on Tuesday, Oct. 29, police announced. The "laser strikes" were reported by airport traffic controllers at Harrisburg International Airport "coming from an area approximately one mile north of the tower," Highspire police said. Yet another tractor-trailer rolled over on the interchange of Route 283 with the PA Turnpike on Thursday, Aug. 22, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The second tractor-trailer overturned on the ramp from Rt 283 West to the PA Turnpike/Interstate 76 South near the exit to the Harrisburg International Airport in Lower Swatara Township.
