The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office has found hundreds of fraudulent voter registration applications while continuing to investigate the 2,500 applications dropped off at the county Board of Elections. : Man Police Cannot ID Shot Dead In York
A man was found shot dead in York City and police had yet to be able to identified him at the time of the police release at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12. Officers were called to a report of a man shot dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the the 800 block of West College Avenue around 4:52 p.m., as detailed in the release. "The identity of this individual is currently unknown, and the incident is being investigated as a homicide," the police wrote in the release. Lower Paxton Police Detective Dies Suddenly, Department Says
A longtime member of the Lower Paxton Township police has suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, the department announced on Wednesday, July 24. Detective Steven Wertz, 42, was off-duty duty when he passed away, officials with the department explained. The date of his passing was not released at the time of publishing. Wertz had been with the department for 18 years and had been assigned to the Criminal Investigation Section since October 2021, according to the release. : 21-Year-Old Man Shot In York City, Police Say
A 21-year-old man is dead following a shooting in York City, area police announced on Friday morning. York City police officers were called to the shooting in the 400 Block of North Beaver Street at 11:56 p.m. on Thursday, June 6. Upon arrival they found the man already dead from an apparent gunshot wound, according to the police release. Detectives are investigating but no arrests have been made as of Friday morning.
