Child Shot, Chambersburg Man Arrested For Gun Offenses: Police
A child was hospitalized after being shot on Birch Street in Chambersburg, where a local man was later arrested on firearms charges, police announced on Friday, Dec. 13. The shooting happened on the 200 block of Birch Street at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, according to Chambersburg Police. Officers found a child suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Chambersburg Hospital and later flown to an advanced care facility for treatment, authorities said. Shot Child Hospitalized, PA State Police Say (

A boy is in the hospital after being shot in Central Pennsylvania, state troopers announced on Monday, Oct. 7. The unnamed child was taken in a private vehicle to Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital in East Pennsboro Township on Sunday, Oct. 6, according to PSP Troopers in Carlisle. The preliminary investigation has led PA State Police to believe the child was shot in Carroll Township, York County, although the investigation remains active. There is no threat to the public, according to PSP. Check back here for updates.

Patrol Car Strikes 5-Year-Old Girl, Philadelphia Police Say
A child was hospitalized after being struck by a police car in Southwest Philadelphia on Tuesday night, June 4, authorities say. A patrol officer hit a 5-year-old girl on the 1600 block of South Ithan Street just before 7:30 p.m., PPD said. She was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is reportedly in stable condition. No one else was injured and the crash is under investigation, police said.
