Motorcyclist ID'd Following Fatal Crash: PA State Police
David "Davey" Newell Jr., 42, of Orrstown was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Sunday, Sept. 1, according to PSP. The crash happened on Orrstown Road near Blind Lane in Southampton Township at 10:52 p.m., state police detailed in the release. Newell was riding "at a high rate of speed" around a curve when he left his lane, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck the guide rail, the police said. Shippensburg Teen Killed In Motorcycle Crash ID'd: PA State Police
A 19-year-old man died at the scene of a motorcycle crash on Sunday, Aug. 11, Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburg announced the following morning. Delbert Zimmerman, of Shippensburg, was driving a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja on Rice Road when he struck a utility pole at a high rate of speed at 9:08 p.m., PSP Trooper Spenser Myers detailed in the release. The deadly crash happened in the 7100 block of Rice Road in Southampton Township. No other vehicles were involved in the collision. Crash Shuts Down I-81 On-Ramp In Franklin County
A multi-vehicle accident shut down an on-ramp to Interstate 81 in Franklin County on Friday morning, May 17, according to PennDOT. Officials said it happened on the PA 696 ramp to I-81's southbound lanes near Exit 24 in Southampton Township. The ramp was still closed as of 9:30 a.m. It's not yet clear if anyone was hurt.
