Triple-Fatal Fire: Toddler, Parents Killed, 2 Kids Rescued In PA Duplex Fire
A tragic fire tore through a Kittanning duplex early Monday morning, Feb. 24, killing a mother, father, and their 3-year-old child while two older children managed to escape, officials said. The deadly blaze erupted in the 1400 block of North Grant Avenue just before 4 a.m., according to Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers. The victims have been identified as Kayla Whittaker, 28, her son Ryland Whittaker, 3, and Jason C. Blystone Jr., 26. Their bodies were found inside a bedroom, the coroner said. Fire Forces Evacuations At Bridgeport Suites, Residents In Need Of Aid (

A fast-moving fire ripped through the Bridgeport Suites Apartment Complex early Tuesday, forcing evacuations and leaving residents without a home, officials said. Firefighters rushed to the 300 block of W. Third Street around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 22, where they battled heavy smoke and flames, according to emergency responders. Crews with Squad 27 were first on the scene, working quickly to knock down the fire, while firefighters from Quint 27 used a ground ladder to rescue a resident trapped on a balcony. Foster Homes Needed For 30 Animals Seized From Berks County Home
Rescue officials are desperate for help after 30 animals were seized from a home in Berks County. The Department of Animal Protection from the Animal Rescue League of Berks County was performing a wellness check when they removed 22 dogs, three cats, five snakes, and two geckos were removed from a home in Womelsdorf on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
