A former high school triple threat athlete was found dead in Harrisburg according to his family and the Dauphin County Coroner's Office confirmed to Daily Voice on Monday, Sept. 2. Michael "Mike" Ford, 58, of Harrisburg, was found in 100 block of South 4th Street in Harrisburg behind the Alva Hotel & Restaurant, on Saturday, Aug. 31, according to the coroner. 'Decomposed Body Discovered Hanging From Tree,' In Pennsylvania, Police Say
"A decomposed body was discovered hanging from a tree in the woods," Philadelphia Police announced on Sunday, Aug. 25. Police were called to a report of a body in a tree in the 1400 block of North 66th Street at 9:47 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25. The person was officially pronounced dead at 9:50 a.m. by Medic 41. A woman has died following a "medical emergency" at the Elizabethtown Fair on Tuesday, August 20, the Elizabethtown Police Department told Daily Voice on Thursday, Aug. 22. Officers were eating lunch at the fair located at 900 East High Street in Elizabethtown Borough when the incident began at 12:55 p.m. Aug. 20, as detailed in the police release. A man who was found dead in the Delaware River on Thursday, July 26 has been identified, Philadelphia police announced in an updated release the following morning. Darnell Dogan, 42, of the 4600 block of Ditman Street, was found near North Delaware and Linden avenues in Torresdale around 3:30 p.m., authorities wrote. He was pulled from the river by a PPD marine unit and pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m. on Thursday. Detectives are investigating, the department added. Easton Man Dies Swimming In Delaware River: Coroner
A 60-year-old Easton resident died while swimming in the Delaware River on Wednesday, July 24, according to the Northampton County Coroner's Office. Louis A. Cosenza's body was recovered from the river in Williams Township, officials said in a release. He was "using a floatation device" when he went into the water for an unknown reason and didn't resurface, the Coroner's Office said. A 19-year-old sprint car racer has died in a crash — off of the speedway, officials announced on Monday, July 15. Riley Emig of the 300 block of Protectory Road, Abbottstown, has died following a motorcycle crash into a pick-up truck towing a trailer, according to a release by the York County Coroner's Office. A 26-year-old Pennsylvania woman died after falling into the water at Glacier National Park in Montana, according to officials. The National Parks Service said Gillian Tones of North Apollo slipped on a rock and fell into the water above St. Mary Falls on Sunday afternoon, June 23. Witnesses said Tones was washed over the falls and trapped underwater for "several minutes," rangers said in a release.
