Dump Truck Crashes Into Amish Family's Bird-In-Hand Home
An Amish family's home was struck by a dump truck on Thursday morning, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications. The truck's cab's front right tire appears to have blown out based on photos shared by Daniel Stoltzfus who also witnessed the crash. He wrote the following in part in a social media post: "I heard something and looked up. The truck went between the tree and the house." A 30-year-old mom woman is dead following a multiple-vehicle crash involving entrapment that closed all lanes of US Route 30 East in part of Lancaster County, authorities announced on Tuesday, June 4. Dayanara Santiago most recently lived in the 200 block of South Duke Street of York City, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber. Her cause of death was Multiple Traumatic Injuries and the manner ruled Accidental. A motorcyclist died from his injuries after crashing on Interstate 93 in Newberry Township on Wednesday afternoon, May 22, authorities say. The 20-year-old wrecked in the southbound lanes near mile marker 32.3 and was taken to Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center where he died, said state police. Dauphin County Man Killed In York Motorcycle Crash: Troopers
Authorities have named the 21-year-old motorcyclist killed in a Fairview Township crash on Sunday, May 19. Issaiha Seiders was headed north in the left lane of Interstate 83 when he merged right into the center lane, state police said in a release. As he began to pass a Ford Fusion in the left lane, the Ford merged right, striking Seiders' motorcycle and knocking onto the right shoulder, according to troopers. Bicyclist Hurt In Lancaster County Hit-Run: Officials
East Lampeter police are searching for the driver who hit a bicyclist and fled the scene on May 8. Authorities said an early 2000s model Dodge pickup truck or SUV hit the victim on the 100 block of East Main Street around 6 p.m. The crash knocked off the Dodge's passenger side mirror which was recovered from the scene, according to police. The bicyclist was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Anyone with information is asked to contact the East Lampeter Police Department on Crimewatch.

A multi-vehicle accident shut down an on-ramp to Interstate 81 in Franklin County on Friday morning, May 17, according to PennDOT. Route 61 between Frackville and St. Clair has reopened, PennDOT told Daily Voice Wednesday evening. The highway was shut down on Tuesday morning, May 14 after a contractor accidentally struck a gas main during a reconstruction project, officials said. A road has reopened following a natural gas leak in Central Pennsylvania, the police announced on Thursday evening. Initially, the 2100 block of Market Street was "closed to vehicles and pedestrians," the Camp Hill police stated in a release at 2:58 p.m. on May 9. "The gas leak has been contained however Market Street will remain closed between 21st and 22nd Streets until further notice," the police said at 4:52 p.m. The roadway reopened at 7:37 p.m. and the public is no longer urged to avoid the area. The collision occurred around 12:30 p.m. on May 7, according to PennDOT's 511PA.
