Construction Worker Takes Fatal 9-Story Fall In Pittsburgh: Officials
A construction worker fell from the scaffolding on the exterior of the ninth floor of a building in Pittsburgh on Thursday, May 30, officials with the office of public safety announced later that morning. The worker fell from the building that was under construction in the 400 block of Melwood Avenue in the North Oakland neighborhood just before 8 a.m., according to PPS. Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS were called to the scene where the man pronounced dead at 8:01 a.m. after suffering "grave injuries," officials said. Four teenage boys turned themselves into police following an investigation into the beating of a man outside his Lancaster home. A 42-year-old man was assaulted and left with a fractured wrist outside his home in the first block of South Water Street in Lancaster on July 8 around 7 p.m., as Daily Voice previously reported.
