Man Brutally Bludgeoned In Head During Broad Daylight Attack In Lancaster: Police A man was brutally bludgeoned in the head during a broad daylight assault on a Lancaster street, police announced on Thursday, March 7. Jaime Raudales was arrested about an hour after the attack, Lancaster City police said. Officers responded to the first block of West Chestnut Street around 9:50 a.m., where they found an adult male suffering from a severe head injury. Video footage and evidence at the scene revealed that Raudales attacked the victim with an unidentified object before fleeing, authorities said. Gas Leak Shutters Penn Square In Lancaster: Police (Update) A gas leak closed Penn Square in Lancaster on Friday, July 7, 2023.  All vehicle traffic at Penn Square was diverted north onto Queen Street, according to a post by the Lancaster Bureau of Police.  The leak appears to have involved a boiler in the area of East King and North Duke streets in the City, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications.  "No foot traffic (was) allowed in 100 Block East King," police said.  UGI has cleared the scene, according to the police and dispatch.

Lancaster County Courthouse Evacuated Due To 'Suspicion Package' The Lancaster County Courthouse was evacuated Tuesday morning after authorities found a suspicions package in the building. Fire crews were dispatched to the courthouse located in the 50 block of North Duke Street, to assist police at 10:29 a.m. The courthouse was evacuated around 11 a.m.on Tuesday. North Duke Street between Chestnut and King streets closed brief while crews investigated. Police are still on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
