York Springs Man Dies In Crash Into Utility Pole, Authorities Say A 32-year-old York Springs man has been identified following a crash into a utility pole in Monroe Township, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Monday, May 1, 2023.  Matthew McCorkel was driving a Nissan Frontier when he lost control, crossing over the center of York Road before exiting the roadway— striking a utility pole, and then hitting a wooden fence— near the intersection with Myers Road around 5 a.m. Sunday, April 30, authorities said.  He was found dead at the scene, according to state police.  McCorkel died from multiple traumatic injuries and his death was rule…

11-Year-Old Boy Assaulted Woman With Weapon, PA State Police Say An 11-year-old boy was arrested after assaulting a woman with a weapon, according to Pennsylvania state police. The boy from Mechanicsburg was apprehended for allegedly using a weapon during a physical altercation at West Keller Street in Monroe Township on Oct. 20 around 6:30 p.m., according to a statement released by police on Thursday. The woman has been identified as a 24-year-old female from Williamsport and is a family member, according to the release. An investigation into the situation is ongoing by Pennsylvania State Police in Carlisle.
