PA Man Convicted For Torturing Estonian In Iraq: FBI
A US Army veteran from Stroudsburg will spend the next 70 years in prison for torturing an employee at his illegal weapons facility in Iraq, according to the FBI. Federal investigators said Ross Roggio directed Kurdish soldiers to kidnap the victim, his own employee, and hold him hostage at a military installation for 39 days. The employee, an Estonian national, planned to blow the whistle on the illegal activities going on at Roggio's facility in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, according to authorities. A man seen on video racking a handgun outside Pennsylvania homes led to the recovery of three illegal weapons and felony charges, authorities said. Officers responded to a report of a man armed with a handgun on the 1900 block of Brookside Drive in Bethlehem around 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, the local police department said in a release on Thursday, June 30. A Sussex County man who was once stabbed in a biker bar brawl was sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for an assortment of illegal weapons and ammo found by authorities after he crashed his van.
