An elderly couple killed when their home exploded in Western Pennsylvania on Tuesday has been identified, officials announced. David Mitchell Jr. 89 and his 87-year-old wife Helen Mitchell died in the blast in the 1400 block of Riverview Road in Crescent Township, Allegheny County, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner. The was felt about a mile away just before 9 a.m. on March 12, officials told the press at a news conference at 11:30 a.m. that day. A community is coming together to help the Barber family get back on their feet after everything they owned, including the family cat, blew up when a contractor hit a gas line on Tuesday. Jennifer and Chad Barber's home in the 3200 block of Crest Road near the intersection with Northway Road in Susquehanna Township exploded around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Pottstown Family Killed In Home Explosion Identified
Four children and their great aunt died, while their two parents were left critical in a home explosion that rocked Pottstown Thursday, May 27, authorities said. UPDATE: A GoFundMe has been set for three brothers, their cousin and grandmother killed in the Pottstown home explosion. Those killed were identified as Francine White, 67, Alana Wood, 13, Jeremiah White, 12, Nehemiah White, 10, and Tristan White, 8. 2 Adults, 4 Kids Hurt In Coatesville House Explosion (

Six people including four children were injured in a Coatesville home explosion Wednesday. The blast happened just before noon, sparking a two-alarm fire at the Hibernia Road home in West Brandywine Township, NBC Philadelphia reports. Two of the children were airlifted to area hospitals while the other two children were taken by EMS with unknown injuries, officials told the news outlet. Lancaster County House Explosion Ruled Murder-Suicide
A couple in Mount Joy Township died in an apparent murder-suicide that ended with their home exploding, according to Northwest Regional police. The couple was found dead in their after a home explosion in the 100 block of Waldheim Road in Mount Joy Township June 1, just before 6 p.m. David Preston, 63, and his wife Victoria Preston, 60 were identified as the victims several days later, as Daily Voice previously reported.
