Three-year-old Elijah Abreu Borgen accidentally shot himself with a gun that an Allentown man had stashed under the couch, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office. Jose Hilario Abreu, 28, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, prosecutors said in a release Friday. Borgen was shot on the 900 block of East Hamilton Street on March 28 and rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest where he succumbed to his injuries, city police said previously. A 3-year-old child was airlifted to the hospital after accidentally shooting himself with a firearm in Suburban Philadelphia over the weekend, authorities said. A 4-year-old boy from Pittsburgh has died after shooting himself in the face, according to police. The boy was identified by family members to CBS2 as Ajani Lane. His mom, Nay Lane, mourned his loss on Facebook. Police were called to a home in the 500 block of North Negley in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood around 8 a.m., according to a statement by the police. The boy was transported to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where he later died, police said. There was a caregiver present in the home at the time of the shooting, according to police. A 10-year-old boy shot and killed himself after finding a gun in his Philadelphia home, news reports say. The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. Saturday in a home at 1410 W Pacific St., NBC News reports. The boy and his 8-year-old sister apparently found the weapon in a cabinet, when he shot himself in the head, the outlet says. The girl ran to a neighbor's house and called police.
