Lightning Strike Causes Massive Fire At Apartment Complex In Susquehanna Twp. (Photos) As a thunderstorm blew through Central Pennsylvania, a fire blew through part of a 3-story apartment complex that was still under construction, fire officials announced on Wednesday.  The call to the blaze at the construction site on Russel Drive in Susquehanna Township came in at 5:25 a.m. on May 8, according to the Dauphin County Deparment of Emergency Management.  A "special weather statement" had been issued in Harrisburg for hail and high winds around the time the structure is believed to have been struck by lightning, according to the National Weather Service.  A s…

Evacuation Ends After Gas Leak In Swatara Twp: Authorities (Update) An evacuation is over after a gas leak in Swatara Township, authorities told Daily Voice.  People in the homes within a 300-foot radius of the 500 block of Highland Street had been evacuated due to the leak, emergency dispatchers told Daily Voice.  A gas line was struck by a construction crew in the area shortly after 11 a.m., dispatchers said.  No one was transported, according to emergency dispatchers.  The power was turned off and UGI temporarily cut off the gas service to the area as they worked to contain the issue, a company spokesperson told Daily Voice at the t…

New Target Store Coming To Central PA Target has announced it is coming to Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The new home of Target is the former home of Kmart of located at 1745 Quentin Road. The store will be approximately 117,000 sq. ft. according to Target. The company purchased the location in a $5 million dollar deal. When construction will start and an approximate opening date has not been released. The location was last used as a mass vaccination site.
