Man ID'd By Coroner After Drowning In Codorus Creek
A 26-year-old man has been identified as the man who drowned in Codorus Creek on Sunday, Apr. 24, according to a release by the coroner's office. Andrew C. Altland, of the 300 block of West Gas Avenue in York, had been missing since he fell down an embankment into the Codorus Creek on near the 200 block of West Philadelphia Street by the West Philadelphia Street bridge in York City around 8:15 p.m., authorities said at the time. A man fell into Codorus Creek and is presumed to have drowned on Sunday, Apr. 24, according to multiple media outlets. A witness called for help after they saw a man fall into the creek near the 200 block of West Philadelphia Street by the West Philadelphia Street bridge in York City around 8:15 p.m., reports CBS 21 and FOX43. York County Coroner IDs Drowned 11-Year-Old Boy
The York County Coroner has identified an 11-year-old boy who drowned in Jackson Township Thursday night.Payton Gonzalez, of Spring Grove, was swimming with a friend in Codorus Creek near the Iowhead Damn when he went under water and didn't come back up around 5:40 p.m., authorities said. Emergency Dispatch Services sent crews to the scene of a boat rescue near the intersection of Sprenkle and Hershey roads, where the boy's body was recovered at 5:43 p.m., authorities said.
