Fatal Crash Involving Motorcycle Closes Part Of I-81: PennDOT A fatal crash involving a motorcycle has closed part of Interstate 81 in Central Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation spokeswoman Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice on Saturday evening, Aug. 31. The deadly crash completely shuttered the southbound lanes of I-81 near the crash scene at mile marker 82 beginning around 5:30 p.m., Schreffler detailed. Traffic is being detoured at exit 85 in South Hanover Township. The interstate was closed for several hours., reopening around 9:19 p.m., according to an updated statement from Schreffler.
