Man Rescued From Cave In Central PA: Officials (Photos) Numerous emergency crews rescued a man "who was wedged in a crevice, deep inside the Wind Cave at the Clark Nature Preserve" on Saturday night into Sunday morning, officials explained to Daily Voice on Monday, Sept. 9.  The man was rescued after 1 a.m. after over five and a half hours stuck in the cave, rescue workers explained.  Crews were called to the scene at the Clark Nature Preserve Bridge Valley Road in Martic Township 6:12 p.m.  The cave posed numerous challenges: dark, narrow, slippery conditions within Wind Cave. 2 Alarm Barn Fire In Lancaster (Developing; Photos) A 2-alarm fire had multiple crews on the scene in Lancaster County late on Monday morning, authorities said. The fire broke out at a barn in the 3390 block of Blue Rock Road, Manor Township around 11:45 a.m., according to Lancaster County Wide Communications. Blue Rock Fire Rescue is the primary department at the scene although, Hellam Township and West Willow Fire Company responded to the scene.  Hellam Township specifically sent a tanker to assist with water to the fire, delivering 6000 gallons before being released. Beloved Firefighter Dies Suddenly In Motorcycle Crash In Central PA A 32-year-old firefighter has died suddenly following a motorcycle accident on Saturday, June 11, authorities say. Heather Renee Gower, a Blue Rock Fire Rescue firefighter, had a single-vehicle crash in the 100 block of Penn Street, Washington Boro, around 8:30 p.m., according to a release by Manor Township police. Officers arrived in less than "three minutes and began performing life-saving efforts," along with "several citizens (who) helped Officers with life-saving efforts until EMS and FD arrived," police say.
