Settlement Provides $1.85 Billion In Nationwide Relief To Students Who Got Loans From Navient
One of the nation’s largest student loan servicers has agreed to relieve $1.85 billion in loan debt to help settle a blockbuster lawsuit filed by 38 states and the District of Columbia, authorities announced Thursday. Under the terms of the settlement, Navient Corp and its subsidiary Navient Solutions LLC will make restitution payments of roughly $260 each to 350,000 borrowers, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. UPDATE: A New Jersey massage therapist acquitted by a jury of sexually assaulting a client still had his license permanently revoked, state authorities announced. Jurors found Asmar R. Berry, 43, of Trenton not guilty in 2019 of sex crimes after his attorney argued that the contact was consensual. Video Footage Shows Deadly Police Shootout That Killed Gunman In Long Branch
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office has released video footage of a deadly police shootout that left a gunman dead in Long Branch. Mark D. Walker, 34, of Woodbridge, Va. shot a detective in the leg before barricading himself inside the Chelsea Avenue apartment Nov. 5, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said. The incident occurred as the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office was attempting to carry out a search warrant. Driver Who Set Himself On Fire During Bayonne Police Pursuit Dies
UPDATE: A driver who set himself on fire while being pursued by Bayonne police has died, authorities said. Officers in an unmarked vehicle activated their lights and siren in an attempt to pull over the as-yet unidentified driver for several violations in the area of 54th Street and Broadway shortly before 11 p.m. July 13, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J.
