Officers responded to the 2300 block of Walnut Street on reports of shots fired around 10:20 a.m. Sunday, but police could not determine if a shooting had in fact occurred.

Around 11 a.m., a woman told county dispatch she was being held captive by a man at a lounge on the 2300 block of Walnut Street, police said.

The woman also said the man was psychotic and holding a gun to her head, authorities said.

As County Dispatch continued to correspond with the woman, they received additional information of a man at the neighboring Five Star Barbershop saying that he had just been pistol whipped by another man he identified as "Thomas," according to police.

Susquehanna Township police responded and set up a perimeter around the plaza.

The Dauphin County Crisis Response Team was activated and assisted with the removal of suspects from Street Lounge and Five Star Barbershop, authorities said.

Further investigation found that two shots were fired in the area and that an assault of a male subject did happen, police said.

The following people were arrested and charged:

  • Thomas Edwards: Aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, person not to possess.
  • Marcelino Baez: Recklessly endangering, drug paraphernalia
  • Deonte Housman: Recklessly endangering, person not to possess
