The driver, 49-year-old Greg Stupar, and his 15-year-old son William, both of Charleroi, PA died at the scene of the crash at the mile 44.8 marker in Lower Swatara Township at 11:22 p.m., according to state police and the family.

Stupar hit the guide rail along the right shoulder of I-83, causing the trailer to break through it and strike a concrete abutment, before sliding down an embankment, and catching fire, according to the release by state police.

The police were unsuccessful in putting out the fire and multiple fire crews were required, police explained in the release.

Authorities continue to investigate the double deadly crash, while the family has been speaking out about this tragic loss.

Stupar was a father of four who loved life in the "backwoods" according to his social media. He and William are survived by his other three children/siblings and his wife/mother Nathasha.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help support the family and cover funeral costs.
