A concerned citizen "spotted a scared cat frozen in fear by the median on I83 near Union Deposit and called PSP," the organization says.
Troopers with PSP Harrisburg closed I-83 and rescued the cat, the organization has dubbed "Trooper."
"The cat was not microchipped and did not have a collar ID. Amanda, a PSP employee, kindly took the kitty home overnight and reached out to FIND TOBY in PA to post the found cat," PAWS of PA stated in the post.
PSP Trooper Barry transported the cat to PAWS spay/neuter clinic where he was neutered and vaccinated by Dr. Whittaker, according to the organization.
"Trooper had no fractures and no major trauma, just mild abrasions and was otherwise purring and affectionate and very happy to be safely indoors being cuddled by volunteers," PAWS said.
He will be going up for adoption when he is fully healed.
