Christopher Winchell Jr., 20, is accused of committing the violent act while already subject to an active Protection From Abuse Order filed by the victim, authorities said.

Officers were called to the 500 block of Oakwood Street after the woman reported violations of the protective order and provided additional information about prior disturbing incidents involving Winchell. During the conversation, she revealed that her cat had been killed inside the apartment.

Investigators confirmed the disturbing claim and processed the scene for evidence, police said. A warrant has since been issued for Felony Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, Misdemeanor Cruelty to Animals, and Misdemeanor Possessing Instruments of Crime.

Winchell, described as 5’10”, 125 lbs, with blonde hair and brown eyes, is considered dangerous, authorities warned.

Police say he may be headed to Elyria, Ohio.

Anyone with information is urged not to approach him but to contact Palmer Township Police at 610-759-2200 or call 911.
