Rollover Utility Pole Crash Kills Man: PA State Police
A Mercersburg man was killed after his car veered off a Franklin County road and struck a utility pole, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Wednesday, March 11.
Douglas C. Spoonhour Jr., 35, a Chambersburg native according to public records, died after the crash in the 1600 block of Saint Thomas Williamson Road in Saint Thomas Township at 6:16 a.m. on Monday, March 9, according to the release.
Spoonhour had been driving a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire southbound when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed from the southbound lane into the northbound shoulder, troopers said.

A St. Clair man was killed in a crash that left several cars and a utility pole damaged, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office announced on Sunday, Aug. 24.
Patrick J. Davie, 74, was pronounced dead at 12:47 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, according to Coroner Daniel Buglio. His cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma from the crash, and his manner of death was ruled accidental.

A driver who vanished into the woods after smashing a stolen car into a utility pole—leaving his passenger behind to bleed and scream for help—has finally been arrested, Lehigh County prosecutors announced on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
Jose Vladmir Jerez, 24, known by witnesses only as “Los Ten,” is now charged in the death of Ezequiel Hernandez-Cartagena, a 20-year-old from Allentown, who died after the wreck on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024.

Woman Killed By Tractor-Trailer Crash On Rt 501: PA State Police
A 60-year-old woman was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer on SR 501 in Heidelberg Township, Lebanon County, at 12:53 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Ann Guy, of Schaefferstown, was driving a Chevrolet Sonic northbound when she failed to navigate a right-hand curve, police said. Her vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Bart S. Balch, 55, of Lords Valley.
