Firefighters Rescue Child In Car At Parking Lot Outside East Drumore Giant
Quarryville firefighters rescued a child locked in a car Thursday, Aug. 15. The company received the call to the child locked in a vehicle at 4:05 p.m. They were found locked in the SUV pictured in the parking lot outside of the Giant grocery store in East Drumore Township. No injuries were reported. It is not immediately clear how the child ended up locked in the vehicle. Check back here for possible updates.

Teen Struck Dead By Train Crash Into Car: Berks County Coroner
Services are on Saturday, Aug. 10 for a 19-year-old man killed when the car he was riding in was struck by a train in Berks County. Meanwhile, family members are raising money for funeral expenses for Jazavier Phelps-Hines, of Reading. A man who has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia disorder has disappeared, according to a Missing Endangered Person Alert issued by the Schuylkill Township Police Department announced on Tuesday evening, Aug. 6. A McConnellsburg grandma has died following a two-vehicle crash through a red light, Pennsylvania State Police announced in a release shared with Daily Voice on Aug. 8. Water Balloons Thrown From Bridge Damage Cars On Rt 222: Ephrata Police
Cars were damaged after items thought to be water balloons were thrown from an overpass, Ephrata police announced on Friday, Aug. 2. Two vehicles were heading north on Route 222 when they were struck by the falling items at the East Mohler Church Road overpass, around midnight on Aug, 1. "One vehicle sustained a large dent to the hood, and the other sustained a cracked windshield," the police stated in the release. 1 Hospitalized After Train Strikes Vehicle In Lancaster Co.: Authorities
One person is in the hospital after their vehicle was struck by a train on Tuesday, July 30, a supervisor with Lancaster County Wide Communication told Daily Voice. The call to the train versus car collision at the railroad crossing in the 2500 block of Horse Road in Upper Leacock Township came into LCWC around 4 p.m. One person in the vehicle was taken to the hospital, and their injuries are reportedly minor. The road was closed at 5:15 p.m. as emergency crews remained on the scene.

The bicyclist who died in a crash on Wednesday, July 17, was a doctor at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, according to police and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia website. Barbara Ann Friedes, 30, was struck from behind by a 2018 Volkswagen on the 1800 block of Spruce Street around 7 p.m., Philadelphia police wrote in a release. Florida Man Had 13 'Explosive Devices' In Truck, PA Troopers Say
A 46-year-old man from Frostproof, Florida was arrested after state police said they found over a dozen improvised explosive devices in his vehicle. The unnamed man was stopped in Tobyhanna on July 5 and "deemed to be under the influence," according to troopers. Authorities obtained a warrant and said they found 13 explosives during a search of his GMC Sierra. Road Rage Shooting On Rt 222, Berks County Authorities Say
A gunman who shot at another driver near the Berkshire Mall on Monday, July 1 is being sought by police. The road rage incident unfolded on Route 222 in Wyomissing around 12:45 p.m., authorities announced the following day. A driver in a black Honda sedan fired at another vehicle, striking it twice, according to investigators. No one was injured in the shooting.
