A domestic dispute turned violent when a Bethlehem man stabbed his girlfriend with a pocketknife, only to be found dead days later in Jordan Creek, Lehigh County authorities revealed on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Daniel Leibensperger, 34, was cooking up more than trouble when he attacked his girlfriend in the kitchen of their Emmaus apartment on Wednesday, Dec. 18, police said. Ice Skating Accident Claims Life Of Costa Rican Woman In Pennsylvania
A 63-year-old Costa Rican woman died following a tragic ice-skating accident in Bethlehem, authorities announced on Monday, Dec. 30. Maria Luisa Jimenez was pronounced dead at 1:33 a.m. at St. Luke's University Hospital, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. Jimenez suffered a fatal closed head injury after falling backward and striking her head on the ice while skating, officials said. The manner of death has been ruled accidental. The incident occurred while Jimenez was visiting Bethlehem from Costa Rica. Further details about the accident have not been released.

Big Lots, the popular discount retailer, is officially going out of business. The company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, has announced plans to close all 963 of its remaining stores nationwide, including the remaining 64 locations in Pennsylvania.
