According to the National Weather Service (NWS) and AccuWeather, the storm poses several risks, including:

  • Damaging wind gusts between 55-65 mph, with isolated gusts up to 90 mph possible.
  • Heavy rain leading to flash flooding in low-lying areas.
  • Possible isolated tornadoes, particularly in eastern Pennsylvania and the Delmarva region.

"Widespread severe weather may not occur in New England, but heavy rain and gusty winds could still lead to travel delays, power outages, and tree damage," AccuWeather reported.

The NWS issued a Wind Advisory for parts of Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday. Forecasters warn that southerly winds of 15-25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph could bring down tree limbs and cause power outages in affected areas.

“Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution,” the NWS said in an advisory.

Officials urge residents to stay updated on local weather alerts and take precautions as the storm moves through.
