Convicted Drunk Driver Strikes Pedestrian In Enola Then Flees, Police Say A convicted drunk driver is accused of striking a pedestrian and fleeing, East Pennsboro Township Police announced on Thursday, Aug. 8.  David Lewis Sweger, 58, of Enola, struck a man with his pick-up truck intersection of East Perry Street and Altoona Avenue in Enola at 7:55 p.m. on July 25, police alleged in the release.  Officers arrived at the scene that night and spoke with the victim. Chop Doctor Killed In Philadelphia Crash The bicyclist who died in a crash on Wednesday, July 17, was a doctor at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, according to police and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia website.  Barbara Ann Friedes, 30, was struck from behind by a 2018 Volkswagen on the 1800 block of Spruce Street around 7 p.m., Philadelphia police wrote in a release.  The Volkswagen then hit three parked cars before coming to a rest, police continued. Pedestrian Struck Near Cemetery In Lititz, Police Say Directly across from a cemetery, someone was struck by a vehicle, Lititz police announced on Sunday, July 7.  The crash happened at the intersection of South Broad Street/PA Route 501 and East Third Avenue around 2:16 p.m. on June 27, Lititz Borough of Police detailed in the release.  The driver was "attempting to turn left onto South Broad Street from East Third Avenue [and] failed to yield to the right-of-way of a pedestrian crossing the street in the crosswalk," the police stated in the release. Patrol Car Strikes 5-Year-Old Girl, Philadelphia Police Say A child was hospitalized after being struck by a police car in Southwest Philadelphia on Tuesday night, June 4, authorities say.  A patrol officer hit a 5-year-old girl on the 1600 block of South Ithan Street just before 7:30 p.m., PPD said. She was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is reportedly in stable condition.  No one else was injured and the crash is under investigation, police said.
