A convicted child rapist who tried to vanish off the grid to avoid Megan’s Law registration has been found guilty, Lebanon County authorities announced on Friday, Feb. 28. Darren Wallace was convicted of failing to comply with Megan’s Law registration requirements after a jury returned its verdict in just 30 minutes on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, officials said. Person Found Murdered Near PA High School, State Police Say
The person found dead near Hazleton Area High School last Wednesday, July 24 was the victim of a homicide, according to troopers. The victim was found in a search of the wooded area behind the school, state police said in a release on Tuesday, July 30. Their name and gender were not reported but authorities said they were "likely homeless residing in the area they were discovered." The victim died from blunt force trauma, officials added. A woman was left with bruises on her face and arms after a convict accosted her vehicle on Route 222 and robbed her, West Earl Township Police announced in a release on Tuesday, June, 11. Michael Eugene Ermold Jr., 57 of Lancaster (who is reportedly experiencing homelessness), is accused of attacking a woman near mile marked 36.8 shortly before 7 p.m. on June 4, the police detailed in a release.
