Philly Man Pleads Guilty To Murder Of Macy's Guard Eric Harrison In Center City Stabbing
A Philadelphia man who fatally stabbed a Macy's security guard and injured another during a robbery attempt has pleaded guilty to murder, authorities announced. Tyrone Tunnell, 31, admitted to killing 27-year-old Eric Harrison and wounding a second guard during a confrontation at the Macy's store on 13th and Market streets in December 2023, police said. Tunnell attempted to steal hats from the department store but was stopped by Harrison and his unarmed colleague, according to investigators. A criminal organization made $850,000 in illegal profits in a sophisticated theft-return scheme targeting TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls stores, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office said. Twin brothers caught stealing beer assaulted an officer in the Poconos, police announced on Friday, Sept. 13. Xaziver and Gabriel Valle, both 19-year-old Tobyhanna residents were arrested on Thursday, Sept. 12, Mountain Regional Police detailed in the release. A 25-year-old man from the Bronx is accused of stealing $4,487 worth of sunglasses in Bucks County, authorities said on Thursday, Aug. 15. To fight the recent rise in shoplifting and retail theft, shoppers could see store security employees wearing body-worn cameras to help catch thieves red-handed. Delco Thieves Made Off With Over $14K In Sunglasses, Troopers Say
State police in Delaware County are looking for two people in connection with a May 5 retail theft. The robbers stole about $14,300 in sunglasses from the LensCrafters at 539 Wilmington West Chester Pike in Glen Mills, troopers said in a release.
