Pennsylvania Park Ranger Stabbed In Face With Scissors: Police
A Philadelphia park ranger managed to capture a suspect shortly after being attacked with scissors, authorities said. Arrested was 34-year-old Thomas Riceman from Philadelphia. Riceman was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, ethnic intimidation, terroristic threats and other charges, according to Philadelphia police. On Sunday, Sept. 1, at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers from the 9th District responded to a radio call reporting an assault on a park ranger at 1800 Walnut Street. Suspicious Fire Kills Philly Man, 37: Police
A 37-year-old man was killed in a fire that was intentionally set in Southwest Philadelphia, authorities said. The victim's name had not been released. On Thursday, Aug. 29, at about 7:30 p.m., Philadelphia Police and Fire Department responded to a fire on the 5700 block of Harmer Street, in the 19th District. 'Decomposed Body Discovered Hanging From Tree,' In Pennsylvania, Police Say
"A decomposed body was discovered hanging from a tree in the woods," Philadelphia Police announced on Sunday, Aug. 25. Police were called to a report of a body in a tree in the 1400 block of North 66th Street at 9:47 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25. The person was officially pronounced dead at 9:50 a.m. by Medic 41. A 41-year-old passenger was killed in a Philadelphia crash in which the driver made an illegal turn, authorities said. At 3:22 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, the fatal crash occurred at Kelly Drive and Reservoir Drive, near Parkland in the 22nd District, according to Philadelphia police. Philly Man Arrested In $100K Jewelry Store Heist
A 53-year-old man from Philadelphia has been arrested in connection with a $100,000 heist from a jewelry store, authorities said. Chim Phu was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 3 after a warranted search of his home, Philadelphia police said. The robbery took place at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31 on the 900 block of Arch Street. Patrol Vehicle Crash Sends 1 To Hospital: Philadelphia PD
An officer "operating a marked patrol vehicle was involved with a private vehicle", sending one person to the hospital on Monday morning, July 22, Philadelphia Police announced. The crash happened in the 18th District, at 57th Street and Larchwood Avenue at 6:09 a.m., as stated in the release. The officer was not injured, but the driver of the private vehicle was taken by Medic 9 to Jefferson Hospital for evaluation. The scene is being held. CID is the lead investigation unit. Woman Shot, Killed In Philadelphia Home: Police
A 59-year-old woman was killed in a residence in Kensington on Friday afternoon, June 28, said Philadelphia police. The victim was shot on the 3400 block of Crystal Street around 1 p.m. and taken to St. Christopher's Hospital where she died, according to authorities. No arrests have been made and no weapon was recovered as of Friday evening, PPD said. Police are on the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call PPD’s tip line at 215-686-8477.
